The Gophers athletics department unveiled Wednesday morning the most detailed look yet into the new $166 million athletes village with the help of video animation.

The three flythrough videos go room-to-room showcasing details in the Land O'Lakes Center for Excellence, the Basketball Development Center, and the Football Performance Center and Indoor Practice Facility.

The university said "The three videos focus on three core areas within the new structures. The first tours the Land O'Lakes Center for Excellence, showcasing the main lobby, the Nutrition Center and the Leadership Development Center. The tour of the Basketball Development Center, which will be the new hub for Gopher women's and men's basketball, showcases a coaches' entry, a recruiting lounge, one of the practice courts (each program will have 1.5 courts) and court-level spaces including a training room, a strength and conditioning space and a locker room. The last of the three flythroughs tours the Football Performance Center and Indoor Practice Facility, highlighting the locker room, strength and conditioning, training room, players' lounge and the indoor field."

The construction is beginning to take shape with the footings, foundation and steel structure rising up from the ground. New athletic director Mark Coyle said fundraising for the new facilities has surpassed what was raised for TCF Bank Stadium ($86 million), but no exact dollar number has been announced in recent months.
