Gophers fans won't have to wait long to catch Gophers basketball coach Richard Pitino's news conference Wednesday at Big Ten media day in Rosemont, Ill.

Pitino will be the second coach speaking at 8:30 a.m. on Big Ten Network.

Conference Commissioner Jim Delany will begin the news conferences at 8 a.m., followed by Wisconsin coach Greg Gard at 8:20 a.m.

BTN Live's airing of the Big Ten media day men's basketball coaches news conferences will run until 10:40 a.m. Wednesday.

That will be followed by the Big Ten media day show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by Dave Revsine and Stephen Bardo.

Coaches and players from all 14 conference schools will be interviewed about the upcoming season. Delany will also make an appearance on the set.

Pitino, in his seventh season at Minnesota, will be joined at media day by sophomore guard Marcus Carr and senior forward Michael Hurt.

Carr sat out last season as a Pittsburgh transfer. Hurt averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.7 minutes.

The Gophers, who return sophomore starters Daniel Oturu and Gabe Kalscheur, were 22-14 overall and 9-11 (seventh) in the Big Ten last season.
