Gophers volleyball sophomore Alexis Hart was named Big Ten player of the week on Monday, while junior Samantha Seliger-Swenson was named setter of the week for the fourth time this season.

Hart had team-high 27 kills in sweeps over No. 16 Purdue and Iowa last week, hitting .367. She had 11 kills against the Boilermakers on Wednesday and 16 kills with four blocks and five digs against the Hawkeyes on Sunday. It's the first time she has been named Big Ten player of the week.

Seliger-Swenson averaged 12.5 assists per set and helped the Gophers to a .302 hitting percentage, recording 36 assists against Purdue and 39 against Iowa.

The Gophers, who moved up one spot to No. 5 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, visit Ohio State on Wednesday and play host to No. 9 Wisconsin on Saturday. Both matches will be televised on BTN.

• The Gophers men's hockey team (2-2) fell one spot to No. 8 in the latest United States College Hockey online poll after its weekend split with Penn State. St. Cloud State (3-0) moved up three spots to third, behind No. 1 Denver and No. 2 Harvard.
