St. Patrick's Day parades will be held in both St. Paul and Minneapolis on this sunny O'Saturday.

St. Paul's parade, which is celebrating its 52nd year, will begin at noon in downtown St. Paul. The best viewing areas are along 5th Street or around Rice Park.

A parade route map and more information is available at www.visitsaintpaul.com. The parade is sponsored by the St. Patrick's Association of St. Paul.

Minneapolis' parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the newly renovated Nicollet Mall. For a parade route and more information, go to www.mplsstpats.org.

If you plan to enjoy a pint or two, or would like to avoid driving alongside others who might be, consider taking advantage of Metro Transit's free train and bus rides, being offered from 6 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday on all routes. The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, SouthWest Transit and Anoka Transit are also offering free rides. The free rides are sponsored by Miller Lite.
