Native plant sale
It's never too late to fill those empty spaces left in your yard or garden. Late-season crops
There's still time to plant food crops for harvest this growing season. North Country Food Alliance will discuss late-season crops at a workshop. Wildcrafting
Many medicines can be found in the wild. Learn the healing properties of Minnesota's native plants at Carver Park Reserve. Gardens and music
The Tangletown Gardens' Garden and Art Tour, a perennial favorite, returns this year with a free post-tour music festival. The self-guided tour on July 28 will showcase a number of exceptional gardens with local art displayed in select gardens. Gardens will be open for touring 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The music festival, featuring Chris Koza, Romantica, Black Market Brass and Billy Johnson, will be held 3 to 10 p.m. at Wise Acre Eatery, 5401 Nicollet Av. S., Mpls. Garden tour tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, at tangletowngardens.com. The music festival is free and open to the public; no tour ticket required.
Blooming color
The Tri-City Flower Show, hosted by the garden clubs of Bloomington, Edina and Richfield, has a new venue: Bachman's Heritage Room. This year's theme is "Friends, Flowers and Fusion." The free show is open to the public 1 to 6 p.m. July 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 29, 6010 Lyndale Av. S.
