Loons aim to build on first point
Preview: United (0-2-1) will endure several obstacles — 10, in fact —trying to build off last week's first MLS point from the Colorado Rapids when it faces the New England Revolution (0-2-0) on Saturday. The Loons are missing 10 players because of injuries, national team duties and a suspension. The Revolution aren't missing any. The game is New England's home opener after its planned one March 11 against Orlando City SC was postponed because of cold weather. The Revs, the only MLS team without a point so far, started the season on the road against the top two teams from last year, FC Dallas and Colorado.
Notes: The Revolution have two players with Minnesota ties in starting goalkeeper Cody Cropper and forward Teal Bunbury. Both moved to the state when they were kids and played youth soccer there.
Unavailable: Goalkeepers John Alvbage (knee laceration) and Patrick McLain (concussion), defenders Joe Greenspan (concussion) and Thomas de Villardi (leg) and midfielder Bernardo Anor (leg) are out injured for United. Defender Justin Davis is suspended for a red card. Defender Francisco Calvo and midfielders Johan Venegas, Rasmus Schuller and Kevin Molino are all on national team duty.
