Lynx update: Finally back at full strength, the Lynx managed a two-point victory over L.A. on Friday at Target Center even though players not named Maya Moore or Seimone Augustus scored just 17 points on 7-for-19 shooting. They got 33 points from Moore, a career playoff high, and 17 from Augustus in her first game back after missing a month with a sprained foot. The Lynx scored a whopping 23 points off 15 Sparks turnovers and had a 14-6 edge on the fast break. The Lynx won one of two games in L.A. this season but lost the other one by 22 points on Aug. 4.

Sparks update: A more efficient team at home, the Sparks scored 21 points off turnovers in that Aug. 4 game. The Sparks had four starters score in double figures Friday, led by F Candace Parker (16 with nine rebounds), F Nneka Ogwumike (14) and C Jantel Lavender and G Kristi Toliver (12 each). The Sparks were 6-2 at home after the All-Star break, which is when Parker rejoined the team. The Sparks, in their 15th playoff appearance, are 7-0 in the conference semifinals when winning the first game of the series, 2-5 when losing Game 1. … This game is being played at Long Beach State's 5,000-seat Pyramid because Staples Center will host the Emmys on Sunday.
