Lynx at a glance: Minnesota (12-16) is coming off a record-setting 100-95 victory over Sacramento on Friday. The Lynx scored 64 points in the first half for one WNBA record and tied another all-time league mark with 16 three-pointers. Connecticut made that many three-pointers in a two-overtime game in 2007. Minnesota has a half-game lead over San Antonio for fourth place, the final playoff spot, in the Western Conference. The victory over Sacramento broke a six-game losing streak, but can the Lynx build on it? Clearly, the Lynx can score, but opponents are shooting a WNBA-high 45.8 percent.

Mystics at a glance: Washington (13-15) is also competing for a playoff spot. The Mystics are tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind Chicago. They are only 3-7 in their past 10 games and have lost two in a row. Three players average in double figures for the Mystics. Guard Alana Beard is averaging 16.7 points. Ex-Lynx player Lindsey Harding, a point guard, is averaging 13.1 points and 4.8 assists. Next in scoring is 6-2 forward Crystal Langhorne, averaging 11.6 points and 7.8 rebounds. The Lynx beat the Mystics 96-94 in overtime at Target Center on July 7 despite Harding's 27 points.
