Vets say open-air burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan caused health problems. They are known as the Agent Orange of the Iraq and Afghanistan war generation. One of the most notorious was the burn pits at the airbase in Balad, the largest and busiest airbase operated by the military in Iraq. Now Amie Muller who worked and lived next to the pits along the runway there. is diagnosed with Stage III pancreatic cancer. The 36-year-old mother of three has just completed her third round of chemo therapy treatments at the Mayor Clinic. At the same time, she is awaiting a determination about a claim with the VA to determine if a host of ailments from migraines to fibromyalgia, is connected to the pits.
