Boys' basketball

Champlin Park 63, Andover 47: Theo John scored 21 points and Josiah Strong finished with 13 to lead the No. 1 team in Class 4A past the Huskies on the road. The Rebels (17-0) remain undefeated this season. Jacob Paul scored 13 points to lead the Huskies. Logan Rezac added 12.

Maple Grove 71, Centennial 57: Brad Davison scored 23 points to lead the Class 4A, No. 2 Crimson past the visiting Cougars. Teammates Bubba Horton and Tywhon Pickford added 21 and 15 points, respectively. The Cougars were led by Shane Taleen with 23 points. Josh McGreal added 14.

Apple Valley 65, Shakopee 46: Tre Jones and Mohamed Kone scored 16 points apiece to lead the Class 4A, No. 5 Eagles past the host Sabers. Teammate Nathan Macho finished with 12. The Eagles remained undefeated in conference play and extended their lead over Lakeville North to 1½ games. Apple Valley hosts the No. 3 Panthers next Tuesday.

Hopkins 87, Sioux Falls Washington (S.D.) 73: The Class 4A, No. 6 Royals jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead to cruise past the visiting Warriors. Ishmael El-Amin led the Royals with 21 points. Anthony Davis finished with 19. Blaise Beauchamp had 17. The Warriors had a more balanced attack, with Topher Zahn and Angel Arroyo each scoring 12 points, while Isaac Goeman and Zach Heins finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Minnehaha Academy 57, St. Paul Academy 40: The Redhawks, the No. 1 team in Class 2A, held the Spartans to 18 points in the second half to remain undefeated in conference play. Jose' Williamson led the Redhawks with 20 points. Donovan Taylor and JaVonni Bickham finished with 11 apiece. The Spartans were led by Tommy Dicke with 13.

Edina 71, Tartan 69: Anders Nelson scored 26 points and Walt McGrory added 21 as the host Hornets took down the Class 4A, No. 9 Titans. Jordan Horn led the Titans with 29 points. Teammates Noah Whalen and Jordan Thompson added 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Robbinsdale Cooper 64, St. Louis Park 54: Down a point at halftime, the Class 4A, No. 10 Hawks pulled away in the second half behind Beijan Newbern's 24 points. Teammates Onte Burns and Nathan Hill finished with 15 and 12. The Orioles were led by Joey Whitlock with 13 points. Cire Mayfield had 12.

Girls' basketball

Hopkins 72, Sioux Falls Washington (S.D.) 58: Paige Bueckers scored 26 points and Raena Suggs added 17 to lead the No. 1 team in Class 4A past the visiting Warriors. Angie Hammond and Dlayla Chakolis added 11 and 10, respectively, for the Royals. The Warriors were led by Peyton Rymerson and Samiya Jami, who finished with 10 points apiece. At 21-0, the Royals are ranked No. 24 in the country per MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt (S.D.) 63, Minnetonka 60: Trailing 34-22 at halftime, the Rough Riders put up 41 points after the break to beat the Skippers in Minnetonka. Tahia Mitzel led the Rough Riders with 25 points, and Tatum Kooima added 21. The Skippers had four players score in double digits, led by Kayla Mershon with 15 points. Megan Walker had 14, Kelsey Schmitz 13, and Natalie Erhard 12.

Elk River 77, Blaine 49: Gabi Haack scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the Class 4A, No. 2 Elks past the host Bengals. Teammate Sidney Wentland finished with 18. The Bengals were led by Jordan Sauve with 11 points. With the win, the Elks improve to 20-0.

Apple Valley 56, Shakopee 47: Lyndsey Robson scored 21 points and Brynne Rolland added 14 to lead the Class 4A, No. 3 Eagles past the visiting Sabers. Sydney Zerr led the Sabers with 13 points. Brittany West had 11.

Lakeville North 48, Rosemount 46: The Class 4A, No. 4 Panthers survived a late second-half comeback to defeat the visiting Irish. Temi Carda led the Panthers with 11 points. Caitlyn Peterson and Taylor Brown finished with 10 apiece. The Irish's Nicole Elias led all scorers with 18 points. With the win, Lakeville North remains tied with Apple Valley for the conference lead. Lakeville North hosts No. 3 Apple Valley on Tuesday.

Boys' hockey

Grand Rapids 1, Wayzata 0 (OT): Micah Miller scored 4:25 into overtime as the Class 2A, No. 9 Thunderhawks held off the Trojans. John Stampohar and Gavin Hain assisted on the goal. Zach Stejskal stopped 30 shots for the win. The Trojans' Reid Waszczenko finished with 27 saves.

East Grand Forks 3, Warroad 0: Tucker Brown finished with 28 saves as the Class 1A, No. 6 Green Wave shut out the host Warriors. Nick Lund, Luke Vonesh and Dylan Selk scored for the Green Wave. The win gives East Grand Forks a one-point advantage over Moorhead in conference play. The two teams play Tuesday night in Moorhead.

Girls' hockey

Shakopee 3, Lakeville South 1: Despite being outshot 34-18, the unranked Sabers upset the Class 2A, No. 9 Cougars at home. The Sabers' Lauryn McNeil opening the scoring in the first, before Jackie Falk scored in each of the later periods. Teammate Camryn Noess tallied 33 saves in the win. Maddy Fox scored the Cougars' lone goal.

Centennial 3, Andover 2 (OT): The Class 2A, No. 8 Cougars scored three unanswered goals, including Anneke Linser's overtime winner, to avoid an upset vs. the unranked Huskies. Gabbie Hughes and Maija Almich also scored for the Cougars. Goals by Claire Butorac and Jamie Nelson gave the Huskies an early 2-0 lead.
