Former Chanhassen High School star Frank Ragnow of Arkansas was named to the second team of the Associated Press' first Preseason All-American team ever.

The 6-5, 317-pound senior center from Victoria is on the Rimington and Outland Trophies watch list and made the Pro Football Focus All-America first team last year.

Ragnow has started 26 consecutive games for the Razorbacks and didn't allow a sack last year for the second consecutive season.

Southern California quarterback Sam Darnold and Penn State running back Saquon Barkley are among the top names selected to the first team.

Darnold was voted to the first team by a panel of 51 Top 25 voters, edging out Heisman winner Lamar Jackson, who is the second-team quarterback on the lists released Tuesday.

Center Billy Price of Ohio State, tight end Mike Gesicki of Penn State and linebacker Josey Jewell of Iowa were the other first team picks from the Big Ten.

Wisconsin tight end Troy Fumagalli, Ohio State defensive end Tyquan Lewis, Michigan defensive end, Indiana linebacker Tegray Scales and Northwestern safety Godwin Igewbuike made the second team.
