Vikings defensive star Everson Griffen will continue to pursue his record streak Sunday in Washington. Griffen returned to practice Friday and is expected to play, said head coach Mike Zimmer, even though he's listed as questionable.
Griffen had been held out of practices Wednesday and Thursday after the team's bye week to nurse a foot injury suffered Oct. 29 against the Browns. With a sack against the Redskins, he would own the Vikings franchise record with nine consecutive games netting at least one sack. At eight straight games, Griffen is tied with Jim Marshall ('69) and Jared Allen ('11).
He's currently just two games shy of the all-time NFL record of 10 straight games, set by Simon Fletcher between the 1992 and 1993 seasons.
The Vikings will be without right tackle Mike Remmers, who has been ruled out after missing practice all week due to a concussion. Remmers was still in the concussion protocol as of Friday afternoon, 12 days after he attempted to cut block Browns linebacker Jamie Collins Sr.
Rashod Hill should get the start for Remmers.
Expected to return is left guard Nick Easton, who has missed three games with a strained calf. Easton was a full participant in practice throughout the week.
