A pickup truck rolled over in Andover, leaving the driver dead and two children surviving unscathed thanks to their car seats, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash occurred about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on westbound Bunker Lake Boulevard near 140th Avenue NW., according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

The pickup, driven by 40-year-old Kerra M. Cameron, of Ramsey, went into a ditch and "rolled multiple times," a statement from the Sheriff's Office said.

The woman and the children, from Albertville and ages 1 and 3, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, and Cameron died that night, said Sheriff's Cmdr. Paul Sommer. Cameron was wearing a seat belt, Sommer said.

The children, whose identities have not been released, have since been released from Mercy. Sommer described the woman as caring for them at the time of the crash.

"The children were properly placed in child seats, [and] they appeared uninjured," Sommer said. "The car seats did their job."
