DLR Group has purchased Minneapolis interior design firm Studio Hive.

Founded in 2003, Studio Hive has worked for a range of clients including law firms Gray Plant Mooty and Fox Rothschild as well as the University of Minnesota and UCare.

Studio Hive's staff of 14 will move to DLR's offices in Renaissance Square in Minneapolis by early April growing DLR's local staff to 80 workers.

"Studio Hive is recognized locally and nationally as an innovator in the practice of workplace interiors and this elevates the depth and expertise of our workplace studio both in Minneapolis and nationally," said DLR Group chief executive Griff Davenport, in a statement.

Studio Hive co-founder Janice Carleen Linster will head DLR's Minneapolis office design team and also join the global office team. Co-founders Shawn Gaither and Shari Bjork will collaborate with Linster and DLR office design team leader Cassandra Griep. Gaither will join the firm's higher education division as well.
