Wild assistant coach Darryl Sydor returned to the team's practice today after a two-month absence following a drunken driving charge.
Also, forwards Tyler Graovac (sports hernia surgery) and Justin Fontaine (sprained MCL) will be out at least a month. Graovac had surgery in Philadelphia and the recovery time is usually six weeks.
Sydor pleaded guilty to second degree driving while impaired on Oct. 11 and was sentenced to 365 days in jail, 60 of which were executed. The remaining 305 days were stayed for four years, the term of Sydor's probation.
Sydor had a mandatory 15-day jail sentence, and served two long weekends at the Anoka County workhouse last month.
Sydor, who attended an in-patient treatment facility in California in late August and much of September, was arrested on Aug. 21 for drunken driving. His 12-year-old son was in the car at the time.
He will meet with reporters following the team's morning practice at Ridder Arena.
Wild right wing Justin Fontaine has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee that's expected to keep him out four to six weeks.
The Wild also said that rookie center Tyler Graovac had sports hernia surgery on Tuesday in Philadelphia, and will be out for about six weeks.
