The first of several roster moves have been announced today.

Outfielder Drew Stubbs was released and righthander Drew Rucinski was reassigned to the minor leagues. No surprises there. We've been told there will be more announcements after the game. There should be. The Twins began the day with a 43-man spring training roster, which is a lot entering the final week of camp.

The position players appear to be set, but Robbie Grossman, the likely backup outfielder, has to prove he's healthy. The No.5 starter's role is down to Adalberto Mejia and Tyler Duffey. There's probably two bullpen spots available, with several pitchers still in play for those roles.

Kennys Vargas said his foot is still sore after fouling a ball off of it, but he said he's going to try to some light work today.

Grossman (groin) is close to returning to action. His last hurdle will be to run the bases, and that should happen in the next couple of days.

Ehire Adrianza is still sore after straining his right oblique on Saturday. That's a big development for Eduardo Escobar and Danny Santana

Not sure if these are the Opening Day lineups (I doubt it), but all the big shooters are on the field this afternoon at Hammond Stadium.

Check back here later after the Twins announce the cuts. Saw a few moving boxes in the clubhouse today....
