St. Paul-based Cima NanoTech Inc. announced it has obtained $15 million in equity financing from funds associated with a global alternative asset management company.

Cima NanoTech sells a wet material called SANTE Films that coats flat panel displays. The company claims its material makes the displays brighter and more energy efficient.

The company said the investment will help them expand and apply SANTE Films into other product categories such as solar cells and touch screens.The company employs 25 people worldwide.

Cima NanoTech declined to disclose the name of its investor.
