Two people died in rollover crashes Thursday night in Dakota and Goodhue counties, the State Patrol said.

A Cannon Falls man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle on Hwy. 56 near Warsaw Township. Scott Theodore Friedrich, 58, was driving north on Hwy. 56 just after 11 p.m. when his 2001 Chrysler Town and Country slid into the ditch near milepost 84 and rolled.

Friedrich, the only person in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene 12 miles southwest of Cannon Falls in Goodhue County, the patrol said.

About 20 minutes later, a pickup truck driven by Michael James Serres, 53, of Hampton, slid into the ditch on Hwy. 50 near Inga Avenue in Douglas Township in Dakota County and rolled over.

Serres, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale with noncritical injuries, the patrol said. A passenger in his truck, identified as Terri Lynn Stephenson, 49, of Hampton, was not wearing a seat belt and did not survive the crash, the patrol said.

Alcohol was a factor, the patrol said.
