The Twins, satisfied with how Byron Buxton is recovering from his migraine, decided this morning to send him out on a minor league rehabilitation assignment.

Remember when I wrote here yesterday about running into Buxton yesterday and he looked like he was still in rough shape? I found out today that the new medication he received on Friday causes drowsiness, which is why he looked out of it. Once he got to the park, started baseball activities and had the medication wear off, he was more like his normal self.

He took batting practice on Saturday and came through it well. So he drove to Bradenton to meet Class A Fort Myers today and be the designated hitter.

"Full steam ahead," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "With the plan to play centerfield Monday and Tuesday."

The Twins are hopeful that he can come off the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, the first day he's eligible.

"We don't have to commit to that," Molitor said, "but we all are hopeful of that, if things go well and he doesn't have any setbacks."

Buxton was placed on the disabled list on Wednesday because of a migraine. But the move was backdated to April 15, making a Wednesday routine possible.
