Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis was where Books for Africa celebrated its 30th anniversary, complete with live music and stories of lives transformed through education. The Twin Cities-based nonprofit collects, sorts and distributes books for students of all ages in Africa. Since its founding, the organization has sent more than 41 million books to 55 African countries as part of its mission to "end the book famine in Africa."
