Two men were shot and wounded shortly after bar closing early Sunday in the Warehouse District of downtown Minneapolis, authorities said.

Police emphasized in a statement issued later in the morning that the violence was not related to the Pride events going on all weekend in and near downtown.

The gunfire drew police officers to the intersection of 4th Street and 2nd Avenue N. about 2:45 a.m., said police spokesman John Elder.

Within minutes, the area was saturated with police officers in squad cars, on foot, bicycles and horseback, Elder said.

Moments later, two men were dropped off at Hennepin County Medical Center, one grazed on his head by gunfire and the other with a gunshot wound to a leg. Elder said both are expected to survive.

"The investigation reveals that this incident appears to be between two groups of people who are familiar with each other," the police statement read. No arrests have been made.
