A 23-year-old double-murder suspect is back in Minnesota, accused of killing his mother and his teenage nephew in her north Minneapolis home a month ago before leaving a bloody trail as he fled to Iowa.

Ishmael Roberts was extradited Thursday to Minnesota from custody in Waterloo, Iowa, and booked into the Hennepin County jail, with authorities listing his current residence as North Hollywood, Calif., with no permanent address. Bail was set at $2 million.

A grand jury indicted Roberts on two counts of first-degree murder. A court appearance has yet to be scheduled.

According to charges, Roberts entered the home on Oct. 29 in the middle of the night and said nothing before killing Beatrice Wilson, 57, and her grandson Peter, 14, as they fought for their lives. Roberts had once lived in the residence in the 1200 block of 12th Avenue N.

Roberts was captured that evening in Waterloo on suspicion of stealing his mother's car, then rolling it over before trying to flee police.
